Persuasive Essay

          Today I will be comparing McDonalds and Wendy's to give reasons as to why Wendy's is better. Not only does it taste better, but it has better quality and is healthier for you.
          McDonalds is known for not being healthy for people. Granted, not everything is healthy for you at Wendy's, but as a majority, Wendy's has healthier options. A lot of things, for example too much Sodium in McDonalds can lead to heart attacks from too much intake. Also, the "healthy" yogurt parfaits are the same as eating a sundae! People are always trying to sue McDonald's and they have their reasons. Wouldn't you like to have healthier food that tastes better as well?
         Wendy's food is better with everything! They have better burgers, fries, milkshakes(Frosty's), salads, chicken, etc. Their chicken is from the actual meat of the chicken while McDonald's nuggets are from other parts of the chicken they are ground up and fried. It's not even real meat! And that can't be good for you. Wendy's has better quality and always leave your taste buds and your stomach satisfied.
         If you wantthe best for you and your family, always choose Wendy's over McDonalds. Just because they don't have a playground to attract your children, doesn't mean their yummy treats won't! There is no contest, Wendy's is better all around! You should definitely stick with Wendy's.

CNN Student News 9/9/11

Issue: They are discussing the attack of the Twin Towers on 9/11/01. This attack occured because Al Queda took over planes and ran them into the Twin Towers. The Twin Towers were not the only buildings that got attacked, it was also the Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania. It was a very tragic event for a America. When the first tower was hit, all of America stopped what they were doing, and watched television and listened to the radio. At first, everyone thought it was a mistake the pilot might have made. But when the second plane hit the other tower, they knew we were being attacked. So many tears were shed on this day. Many Americans feared that more would hit their city! They discussed the events on this day and the reasons American's still reflect on it today.
My Opinion: This was a horrifying event. I think what Al Queda did was evil. They caused so many broken hearts and sad souls for America. They were proud of what they did, and that sickens me. Though I think it is important to remember this day because America did not take a downfall, we came out stronger! We should remember all of the lives that were taken on this day, and the brave souls who tried to save them
How to Help the Issue: We should reflect on the lives that were lost and how brave people were on this day. If you show respect to your flag and your troops, and maybe even sympathy, I think that would be a great way to help and reflect over the events that occured on the day of 9/11.

Reflective Speech: Staring Down the Audience

I think that I picked a good topic to talk about. I could elaborate on it for a while if that had been necessary. I think that I should have used more gestures while I was speaking. Though I felt comfortable while talking to my classmates.

1) One of the topics that CNN Student News covered is a large fire in Texas.
2) The fire started because of a drought that was going on in Texas. It spreaded very far because of winds coming hin from hurricane Irene. It took down many homes and buildings but some people around that area are trying to be optomistic.
3) To solve this issue, they had to get many firemen to spray a lot of water all over the enormous fire.
